The construction of both can be put in relation to the indication present on the municipal fountain placed in the square of the Crescent that shows the date of 1883 and the municipal coat of arms. Lavatoi and fountain were fed by the municipal tank just built near the Spanish Wall of the Fortified City. Two wash-houses are placed on the sides of the base of the Battery of the Crescent , while at the Battery of Sant’Andrea, in front of the homonymous church, there is one and no traces of a previous twin.
