Latin inscription
Interesting Latin inscription, found during the excavation of a room in the area of the current Hotel Garibaldi, dating from the early imperial age. According to the studies carried out so far, the plaque recalls the elevation of a statue. The room from which the inscription comes presents a very articulated history in time, with overlapping levels and materials dating to the IV sec a.C. to the IV – V sec. d.C., that suggest, together with the data acquired in the area, the presence of a fish processing activity already from the III sec. BC.
